Pro-Life Blogs points out a Houston Chronicle article which describes new Tennessee "Choose Life" license plates as anti-abortion.
NASHVILLE, TENN. - Tennessee's anti-abortion "Choose Life" license
plates could hit the streets within three months now that the U.S.
Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal.
Production of the plates can begin once the state attorney general
gives the go-ahead and minor design changes are made to the specialty
plate, Department of Safety spokeswoman Julie Oaks said last week.
So what is it about the words "choose life" that's "anti"? Pro-Life Blogs says this about the article:
The plates don't mention abortion, nor do they
make a negative statement. Instead, the message they present is a
positive encouragement, a choice for life. I know this nothing new, but
why not just state, "Choose-Life License Plates ready to roll in
Tennessee" ?
It appears the writer of this AP article takes offense to the choose life license plates and so describes them as "anti-abortion." Only a person with a pro-abortion political agenda would find the words choose life to be a threat.
Here in Ohio, we have license plates that say "Choose Life" along the bottom with the words "Adoption builds a family" on the left side of the plate; in fact, I have them on my SUV. I must be an anathema to the left: a pro-lifer who drives a gas guzzler.
